Θα μπορούσε κάποιος να πει πως η Sian Heder και οι συντελεστές του CODA, είπαν στις υπόλοιπες ταινίες «CODA τα χέρια σας, το Όσκαρ είναι δικό μας». Κι αυτό γιατί αναδείχθηκε η Καλύτερη Ταινία της χρονιάς στη χθεσινή απονομή.
Το The Power of The Dog είχε τις 12 υποψηφιότητες, είχε το oscar buzz, αλλά τελικά έμεινε με μόλις μία κατάκτηση, αυτή στο Όσκαρ Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας, που το πήρε η Jane Campion, κάτι που ήταν σιγουράκι.
Το Netflix, που περίμενε πολλά από το The Power of The Dog και το Don’t Look Up, μάλλον θα το φυσάει και δεν θα κρυώνει που έχασε το μεγάλο βραβείο από ταινία της Apple TV.
Αυτό που δεν είχε προβλέψει κανείς, είναι πως το CODA (δες το review μας εδώ) θα κάνει τέτοια ρελάνς και θα πάρει το Όσκαρ και στις τρεις κατηγορίες που ήταν υποψήφιο, δηλαδή Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Όσκαρ Β΄Ανδρικού με τον τρομερό Troy Kotsur και το Όσκαρ Διασκευασμένου Σεναρίου.
Στα της απονομής, έκπληξη θεωρείται και η κατάκτηση του Όσκαρ από την Jessica Chastain στο Ά Γυναικείο, ενώ το Dune είναι η ταινία με τις περισσότερες κατακτήσεις, αφού σάρωσε στις τεχνικές κατηγορίες και πήρε συνολικά 6 Όσκαρ.
Τέλος, η στιγμή που θα συζητηθεί, είναι αυτή που ο Will Smith ανέβηκε στη σκηνή για να χαστουκίσει τον Chris Rock και να του πει να μην ξαναμιλήσει για τη Jada Pinkett, τη γυναίκα του, μετά από ένα απρεπές αστείο που έκανε για το ξυρισμένο της κεφάλι. Η Jada έχει αλωπεκία και ένιωσε πολύ άβολα, με αποτέλεσμα να εκραγεί ο Will.
